Quality time on the road

No classroom work, just a couple of short preparation sessions and you’ll be driving with your dedicated personal in-car trainer – who can also advise and support you by phone*, email and online.

A training partner

Each trainee will be assigned a training buddy.  You will be encouraged work in conjunction with your training buddy encouraging you to learn how to observe, assess and give feedback, all under the supervision of your trainer.

It won’t be long before you're ready to take the official DSA exam. This consists of a multiple-choice test and practical on-road tests to assess your driving and teaching skills.

The Three Parts:

Our instructor training course provides around 90 hours of training, all developed in conjunction with our instructor trainers to provide you with all the necessary training. This – and the fact we are a dedicated training provider– is probably why our course pass rates are far above the national average*.

Part 1 Theory training

This is a home study module which is supported with the feedback and encouragement of your one to one personal training with your designated driving instructor trainer.

Your instructor trainer will arrange to meet you at a convenient and local location to introduce themselves and to provide you with your complete home study pack.

Inside your training pack you will find a variety of books, CD ROMs, DVD’s, Mock tests and other training materials which your instructor will be able to discuss with you, helping you to prepare for you DSA theory test.

Throughout the training programme, help is only a phone call away.

Part 2 Driver training

Back to the basics!  You will receive over 20 hours of in car tuition and home study tuition in preparation for the particle driving test – Part 2.

All of the training will be on a one to one basis with your designated instructor training who will be with you throughout the process.

Before you are allowed to sit the part 2 test your driving ability will be assessed thoroughly through a mock test, just to iron out any final bad habits and to make sure you are 100% ready.  Our trainers will take your driving ability and polish it up to a very high ‘advanced driving’ level.

Additional training will also be provided if required upon request.

Part 3 Instructional training

This is the final part of the process and your final test.

Your instructor trainer will provide you with over 40 hours of part 3 training on a one to one basis. Our intensive in car training sessions will teach you how to teach a learner driver to drive – and then onto passing the DSA test of instructional ability, allowing you to then qualify as an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI).

Once your core 40 hours of training have been completed you will be offered the opportunity to apply for a trainee license from the DSA and to begin working as a driving instructor.  This can be a very useful preparation tool and we will assist you in finding the right driving school package for your needs.

For those who undertake an approved driving school trainee license franchise, we will provide an additional 20 hours of training over the first 12 weeks of your license to prepare you for your final exam.

Once you have registered you will be able to register and start working as a fully qualified Approved Driving Instructor.

Once you have passed your part 3 test you can register and start working as a fully qualified Approved Driving Instructor.
